Mouthwatering Mondays

The idea that a roast takes hours to prepare is sometimes very misleading.

I can quite often also feel very intimidated by the thought of preparing a roast. In reality I’ve learnt that throwing a chicken into the oven to roast is actually a very quick, simple and very satisfying experience.

Where the time consuming aspect of it comes in is what you decide to have to accompany the chicken. If time and energy are a problem why not just make a salad or some simple veggies!

I love this “Ina Paarman’s Crispy Skinned Roast Chicken and Onion Gravy” it seriously looks easy needless to say mouthwatering delicious. You don’t have to use her specific spice or gravy powder instead you could change it to either anyone you have in your kitchen cupboard or alternatively anyone that catches your eye at the supermarket.

Ingredients/shopping list:

1 fresh chicken
Ina Paarman's Rosemary & Olive Seasoning
1 T (15 ml) butter
1 small lemon, cut in quarters
4 sprigs of fresh rosemary or thyme
1 t (5 ml) baking powder
1 t (5 ml) corn flour (maizena)
1 onion, cut into quarters
2 T (30 ml) Ina Paarman's Brown Onion Soup & Gravy Powder
1 cup (250 ml) water
