The Bag Lady

The Bag Lady

Once known as the shoe-a-holic, I’ve become increasingly obsessed with bags over the last couple of years.

My collection of arm candy is nowhere near large enough to rival the shoe haul gathered over shopping trips gone by, but give it time and I’m sure I could improve on it’s size!

Once known as the shoe-a-holic, I’ve become increasingly obsessed with bags over the last couple of years.

My collection of arm candy is nowhere near large enough to rival the shoe haul gathered over shopping trips gone by, but give it time and I’m sure I could improve on it’s size!

The dangerous thing about my growing bag obsession is that it tends to veer more towards the expensive variety which would be all well and good if I had the bank balance to match. Luckily Small Child shows no similar interest so far and is only attempting to carry the two bags pictured as she wants to be Mr Online Stylist’s photographic assistant.

In an effort to try and even out any future spend, I’ve been keeping an eye on some of the best offerings from the high street and the high end market…although the final choice may blow that theory completely out of the water.

Darcy fuschia ostrich effect pink handbag – £25.00 Boohoo.com, Principles by Ben de Lisi dark pink grab bag – £45 Debenhams, Michael Kors textured-leather tote – £795 Net-A-Porter

Market tote – £79.50 Banana Republic, Newbark leather tote – £560 Net-A-Porter, Large grey suede woven bag – £85 Topshop

Lilac quilted mini barrel bag – £16 Miss Selfridge, Chanel vintage classic 2.55 bag – £3,120 Matches, Quilted shoulder bag – now £85 Jaeger

And if you ever had cause to doubt why women lust over high end bags or question the price tag then feast your eyes on the Yves Saint Laurent python Muse tote – yes it’s £2,825 but it’s a truly beautiful work of handbag art.

What would you choose if you could have your dream bag?
